FOR NHS INTEROPERABILITY AND CONSENTED HEALTH RESEARCH

The future of the NHS is dependent on a healthcare system that joins up care across the whole-system, removes fragmentation and is organised to support people with multiple health conditions. It is a system that empowers patients to take control over their own care, and have their data accessible to healthcare providers on a single healthcare record.

The challenge ahead is vast, Accession is setting out to prove that this can be done.

OUR SOLUTION

The blockchain solution in development at Accession connects NHS providers and allows seamless data sharing across the healthcare ecosystem, illuminating entire patient histories at point of care for improved patient treatment and outcomes.

Accession’s blockchain will support the NHS to:

  • Create a system that is interoperable by design, establishing a truly connected health service
  • Deliver on the NHS Five Year Forward View, driving system efficiency and patient outcomes
  • Be a global powerhouse for healthcare research, linking and standardising a nation’s health data

NHS INTEROPERABILITY

Interoperability is a fundamental requirement for improving the delivery of healthcare and assessing outcomes. The goals of interoperability are to enable seamless delivery of care across traditional organisational boundaries, and to ensure that healthcare professionals and patients can access all parts of their electronic clinical record with the ability to import information into it.

The new effort to digitise the NHS should guarantee widespread interoperability.1
